From Hidden Archives to Community Showpiece

The archives in Kingsport weren't just out of space—they were out of sight. Tucked into a windowless basement, the collection was difficult to access and largely unknown to the public. 

But when the opportunity came to move into a new space, the city saw a chance to do more than reorganize. It was an opportunity to reintroduce the archives to the community. 

With thoughtfully designed storage, collections are now organized, protected, and easy to access. Materials that were once boxed away are visible and usable, helping archivists work more efficiently and visitors find what they need faster.
