After a major renovation, Columbus State University's Archives had a new vault with modern controls and improved space. There was just one problem. They were already out of room.
With static shelving, the collection filled nearly the entire vault from day one, leaving little space for future growth. Instead of expanding again, the team rethought how to use what they had.
High-density mobile shelving condensed the collection to half the footprint, opening the remaining space for future acquisitions. The system was customized to support everything from standard archival boxes to oversized art and map collections, all while working around existing columns and ductwork.
