At Clayton State University, the library had remained largely unchanged since it opened in 1980, even as student needs and collections continued to grow. What was once state-of-the-art had become crowded, outdated, and short on the kind of space students needed to study, collaborate, and recharge.
Rather than start from scratch, the university reimagined what was already there. Partnering with Patterson Pope, they introduced high-density shelving and repurposed existing systems to expand storage while opening up space for seating, study rooms, and student services.
Today, the library offers more room for both collections and students—transforming it into a brighter, more functional campus destination. Download the case study and watch the video to see how Clayton State created a space that works better for everyone.
