Bullitt County was growing, and its library needed to grow with it. The old facility was out of space, difficult to navigate, and no longer able to support the needs of a rapidly expanding community. The new main library offered a blank canvas and an opportunity to rethink what a library could be.
Designed as a true "third space," the new building creates room for connection, learning, and exploration. Thoughtfully planned shelving helps guide visitors through the space, with collections that are easy to browse, and areas that feel open, flexible, and inviting.
By using adaptable shelving and clearly defined zones, the new library supports everything from traditional collections to makerspaces, meetings, and new ways of learning.
